Import time entries when invoicing

When creating an invoice, use the "Import time entries" button to pull all uninvoiced hours for that client automatically. This avoids manual line-item entry and ensures you never miss a billable session.

Set payment terms on every invoice

Always set Net 15 or Net 30 payment terms. Clients with a clear deadline pay significantly faster than those receiving invoices with no due date. Builtomate lets you set a default so you never forget.

Add your logo and bank details once

Set up your branding in Settings once and it auto-applies to every invoice. Your logo, business name, address, and payment instructions appear consistently — projecting a more professional image.

Use notes for context clients love

Yes. Upload your logo once in Settings and it appears on every invoice you create. Your business name, address, and contact details are also pulled automatically from your profile. Currently invoices use a clean, professional template — custom color themes are on the roadmap.
Yes. You can download a PDF version of any invoice or email it directly to your client from within Builtomate. The client receives a clean, professional PDF with all line items, totals, and your payment instructions.
When creating an invoice, click "Import from time entries." Builtomate pulls all uninvoiced time entries for that client, calculates totals at your hourly rate, and adds them as individual line items. You can review and edit everything before sending.
Yes — Builtomate supports recurring (retainer) invoices. Set up a retainer for a client and Builtomate will auto-generate the invoice at your chosen interval (weekly, monthly, etc.) so you never forget a billing cycle.
Core invoicing is included in the free plan. You can create and send invoices, import time entries, and track payment status at no cost. Unlimited invoices are available on the Pro plan.
